The Importance of a Lifestyle of Movement: From Childhood Freedom to Motherhood Balance

As a child, I roamed the fields of Ojai and the open spaces of Wyoming. Now, as a mother balancing work and family, every moment is precious. I strive to bring that same joy and freedom into my daily life, even with a busy schedule. Does it work? Not always. Will I keep trying? You'd better believe it!

Here are a few simple ways to stay fit and cherish the moment with Equipt:

  1. Ankle Weights for Hikes: Strap on Equipt's ankle weights during your hikes. They add resistance, making your walks more effective while allowing you to enjoy the outdoors with your child.

  2. uBarre Curls While Cooking: Use Equipt’s uBarre for quick curls while making breakfast. Just a few reps while flipping pancakes can keep you active and strong. Lola B and I even do a "smoothie dance, while the blender goes do jumping jacks for the one minute, or just a good moving dance party! Extra points for adding your equipt weights while you do it.

  3. Squats instead of standing and waiting: There is a lot of "We need to go now! Followed by standing impatiently. Make that stand more effective (and less frustrating for you!) by doing squats or a wide legged plie pulse while you wait. Y

By incorporating these small changes, you can stay introduce those minute movements for mind and body release all day long!  Bonus? The versatility means you can quickly transition with the versatile fitness equipment from a minute movement patiently waiting to an amazing pilates routine. Who needs a full playlist !? (wink wink nudge nudge)

Now I am strapping on my new color of Uwraps (more on that soon!) and heading to the Huntington Gardens!

xx,

Kodi

PS Thank you to Motherly Magazine and Dreamers and Doers for sharing how I incorporated building EQUIPT while raising Lola B!
